The main purpose of ITHI is to provide information and support to teachers and other organizations related to the field of Deafness. To better service our members, ITHI is broken into twelve areas across the state. Each area has at least one area chairperson who is responsible for relaying information from executive board meetings to the general membership.

ITHI hosts a state wide conference held annually the first weekend  in March. The two day conference provides speakers and break-outs on a variety of topics related to teaching and servicing the various needs of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing populations.

A graduate level course is offered annually to members. This class focuses on teaching methods that are available for use with Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing students.

ITHI also provides a quarterly newsletter which includes information from area chairpersons and executive board members. Conference updates and reports are also included in each newsletter.
