The mission statement for ITHI is to provide service and expertise to the educational community serving deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

Goals:

• Provide networking opportunities.
• Offer professional development opportunities to pre service and in service professionals.
• Serve as a resource to policy makers; Illinois State Board of Education, Illinois legislators, program directors.
• Be actively involved in legislative issues affecting the education of persons who are deaf or hard of hearing persons and executive board members. Conference updates and reports are also included in each newsletter.
